Frequently asked questions
Short answers on screen recording, Screen Studio, and finishing a video you can share. Longer walkthroughs live on the dedicated guides.
Is Video Workflow Studio the official Screen Studio website?
No. Video Workflow Studio is an independent educational resource. Screen Studio is a third-party macOS app. Official downloads, pricing, and support are handled by the developer on the official Screen Studio site.
Do I need extra software to record my Mac screen?
No. macOS includes screen recording in the Screenshot toolbar (Shift-Command-5) and in QuickTime Player. A dedicated app is optional. People usually look for one when they want post-recording zoom, cursor treatment, or a lighter finishing workflow.
What should I check if a recording has no sound?
Confirm the correct input in System Settings, watch the input meter while you speak, and check that the recording app has microphone permission. If you expected app sound, make sure system audio capture is enabled in the recorder and that the source app is not muted.
Why does my screen recording look soft after I upload it?
Most platforms recompress video. Small UI suffers first. Record a readable interface, use zooms on dense panels, and avoid stacking a low-quality export on top of another upload. A 1080p file with clear type often survives better than a soft 4K file.
Should I record in 4K if Screen Studio can export 4K?
Only if the destination and the UI need it. Official Screen Studio materials describe MP4 export up to 4K at 60 fps. That is a maximum, not a requirement. 4K files are larger and can take longer to encode. For many course players and chat tools, 1080p is enough.
Can I add zooms after I finish talking?
In Screen Studio, yes. Official documentation describes placing automatic or manual zooms on the timeline after capture. Auto zoom follows click positions. Use manual zoom when there is no click or when the click is not the subject.
Is it better to record the full display or one window?
Record one window when the lesson stays in a single app and you can size that window in advance. Record the full display when you move between apps or need the menu bar. You can crop later, but a messy full-screen take still costs editing time.
How do I keep personal information out of a demo?
Use a dummy account, dummy files, and a clean browser profile. Hide the desktop and turn on Focus. Before you publish, watch the export for notifications, email snippets, real names, and saved passwords in autocomplete.
Does this site sell Screen Studio or provide app support?
No. We do not sell licenses, host an installer, quote prices, or handle product support. Questions about the website can go to the contact email. Questions about the app should go to the developer.
